Piatigorsky Rememberance Day - Prayer for Solo Cello - Ilse de Ziah

Gregor Piatigorsky was one of the world’s great cellist. He died this day in 1976. I played his piece ’Prayer’ some years ago for my Masters concert at the Cork School of Music along with a couple other pieces by Piatigorsky; Prelude and The Stroll. They work beautifully together. He would play short pieces he composed/improvised as encores. Prayer was written in Homage to Ernst Bloch. If you would like a copy of the music, let me know.
