This song was born in shadows of the ancient ruins of the temple of Aphrodite in Corinth, Greece.
At the height of the temple’s popularity, it’s said Corinth was a ’Las Vegas of the Mediterranean.’
The song’s original title, “Lay Me” refers to the thoughts of a man in this place. His mind is a silent war- an inner conflict between his sacred beliefs and becoming a client to one the the temple’s numerous, free-of-charge prostitutes. This is an echo of that battle- a reflection of consciousness and desire.
