After a fictitious insult, two duelists meet at the famous bone mill at the Devil’s Wall in the Harz Mountains. They aim to humiliate their opponents in the face of witnesses and fight a duel to first blood. The duelists are Elmar of the Hospitallers of Magdeburg in the garb of a 17th century nobleman and myself in the clothing of a young lansquenet. Elmar fights in the Spanish style, while I have mainly Italian sources as a basis for my fencing techniques.
