Alexander Comitas: Herinnering aan Dyma (Remembering Dyma)

In 2000, my friend from St. Petersburg Dyma Vorobyov died. He was of Georgian descent and he passionately loved the music of Alban Berg. I wrote this piece in his honor, putting elements from Georgian folk music and from Berg’s ’Wozzeck“ (there’s a quote at 3;44, for instance) into it, as a remembrance to his warm, flamboyant 2000, my friend from St. Petersburg Dyma Vorobyov died.
