Lilia Gubaidulina sings Desdemona‘s prayer ’Ave Maria‘ from Otello

A Tajikistan born Tatar soprano Lilia Gubaidulina came to Lithuania in 2006 to take part in a concert on the occasion of Kurban Bayram, a holiday celebrated by local Muslims. The visit finally ended in a marriage to one of the leaders of the Lithuanian Tatars. Gubaidulina, the renowned soloist of Kazan Opera, now lives in Lithuania and, in 2010, she became the Golden Voice of Lithuania after winning the TV ’Triumfo arka‘ competion.
