Why did Russia attack Ukraine? | Debunking Putin’s myths about Ukraine + Fundraiser

Hi everyone, my name is Yakiv and I was born and raised in Ukraine and that’s where most of my family is currently located. Most of my friends and family are Russian speakers, including my father who is also Jewish. Moreover, on this Youtube channel, I usually upload videos only in Russian. But given the latest circumstances, this video is in English. Therefore, I can state with certainty that my family is very much representative of those people that Putin is claiming to be “protecting” in Ukraine from the Nazis. By the way, I am nowhere near a historian nor a politician, what I am trying to do here is in the simplest manner to debunk some of the myths and straight-up lies that Russian media and the Kremlin are trying to feed to the whole world in order to justify the Russian attack on Ukraine. We’ll cover the following Puptin’s myths: Ukraine being a Nazi run state, discrimination of Russians speakers in Ukraine, Ukraine being a fake country, Russia troops not targeting civilian infrastructure.
