Chairman Ella Rule on the 20th Anniversary of the CPGB-ML and our tasks in 2024

Our packed meeting in west London celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the CPGB-ML yesterday - the party was founded in Saklatvala Hall on 4th July 2004. Comrade Ella Rule, Chairman of the CPGB-ML (the second to hold that post after the founding Chairman Harpal Brar), gave this excellent speech noting the chief reasons for our formation, our principled Marxist-Leninist analysis and position, our determination to maintain a revolutionary orientation - and prepare the masses of Britain for their role as the ruling class of a Socialist Britain. This means careful study, expanding the knowledge and cadre of our party, and in the oldest imperialist country, with the leading Social Democratic “Labour“ Imperialist party keeping the British working class in ideological schakles, it means in particular a relentless attack upon and exposure of opportunism - in particular Labour Party opportunism, and also of the rest of the British “Imperial left“ and “social chauvinists“ who play the part of keeping the British working class shackled to Labour, which in turn keep us in thrall to Anglo-American imperialism. We also celebrated the historic international events: the Storming of Moncada (26th July 1953) that started the Cuban Revolution, and the Victory of the Fatherland liberation war in Korea (July 27th 1953) that was the first major defeat of US IMPERIALISM. These are two very important dates for the international working class, and like the revolutions of the great Soviet Union and People’s republic of China, they show that it is possible to overturn the monopoly capitalist order and build a socialist society.
