Katamars (1959)

Maidenhead, Berkshire. M/S four girls from the Windmill Theatre, who are in Maidenhead to help with the launch of the Katamar, a type of powered catamaran. They are in the boat on the water. M/S of a crowd of people on the bank , and C/U shots of the girls faces. The girls pick up the boat, laughing, and carry it to the water. There is a quick shot of a group of press photographers. L/S of the Katamar as it speeds along the River Thames, driven by a man. Next we see one of the girls struggling to start the engine with a pull cord. At last they get going and the boat is seen speeding along with the four girls in it, waving at everyone on the bank. There are various shots of the girls on the boat, it’s the size of a fibre glass speed boat. Two of them are wearing stripy jumpers. The boat makes some turns. The launch takes place from the lawn of Skindles Hotel. There are some quick shots of Sheila Van Damm and Anita D’Ray on the bank. Note: The documentation names the following Windmill girls
