Brian Setzer, James Intveld, Billy Zoom, on Art Fein’s Poker Party 5/4/87
“In 1974 Billy Zoom, still then known as Ty Kendall, came to my house to borrow a copy of Dusty Springfield’s Greatest Hits. His band the Alligators (CD, Garage Records, 1996) got a call to back Dusty up at Shirley’s Penalty Box, a club run by L.A. T-Birds roller derby team captain Shirley Harding. In fact Dusty never sang; she was there hanging around her roller-derby pals alright, but didn’t want the spotlight.“ -- from Another Fein Mess, 11/98
