Two gentlemen from Scotland Yard, Police Headquarters (one called Mr Chamberlin) are seated in an auto gyro (an early form of winged Helicopter) on the airfield at Croydon. They are going to be monitoring traffic conditions on Derby Day and today are going up to test the radio communications work.
