Tom Demac vs. Silverclub - Holiday’s Over EP [EP clips]
For its latest single Canada’s My Favorite Robot Records looks to the UK and the unique pairing of producer Tom Demac and Manchester based band Silverclub...
Tom Demac has, over the last decade, become one of the UK’s most respected electronic music producers releasing records on the hottest labels around including Hypercolour, Four Twenty, Murmur, Morris Audio, liebe*detail & his own Electronique audio. Now this celebrated London based producer has teamed up with hotly tipped Manchester band Silverclub for a brand new single to be released on the ever-excellent My Favorite Robot Records.
The EP sets sail with title track ’Holiday’s Over’, a richly produced slice of vocal electronica that deftly fuses live elements with programmed parts to deliver an emotive and instantly likeable track. Demac’s funk infused backing provides the perfect soundbed for Silverclub frontman Duncan Edward Jones’ distinctive vocals and together the pair deliver a record that should have truly broad appeal. ’Throat Trip’ continues in a similar vein with Demac laying down a bass driven rhythm section and Jones providing an intense yet other-worldly vocal, quality stuff.
The package is completed with two remixes; the first comes courtesy of Buzzin Fly act Flowers & Sea Creatures who take ’Holiday’s Over’ and rework it into a deep and dubby version that imbues the record with a haunting quality, the second is provided by Swedish production don Tiger Stripes who remodels ’Throat Trip’ into a wonderfully hypnotic house cut.
Tom Demac and Silverclub have provided My Favorite Robot Records with another stellar release.
