Amnesia’s Lore Explained Through a Historical Lens

In this video I will be taking a look at Amnesia: The Dark Descent’s lore and critically analyzing it in a historical perspective, seeing whether the characters, environments, and events match up with their real-life counterparts. Amnesia is my favorite game of all time and I’d say it is the inspiration of a lot of the things I currently study when it comes to history and such. It has a huge part in my life and I haven’t found myself to be bored of it at all. The story is one of the main reasons I continue to play it, so analyzing it and making this video essay about it is a great way to showcase that. Hopefully this made you see the story differently and might want to make you play/replay it. There’s tons to experience when you’re paying attention to the lore (as it tells you to do anyway when you first boot up the game) so just don’t be shy to read the notes and diaries.
