A. Ananthapadmanabhan (Top Grade Veena artiste) received National award for the musical feature `Sayoojyam’ in 1996, Kerala Samgeetha Nataka Academy award (2005), Guruvayoor Chembai Puraskaram (2011), and Ganakalathilaka from the Goa Carnatic Music Society. He performed for the Golden Jubilee of UNESCO in Paris. A. Ananthapadmanabhan scored the background music for the award winning film `Aswatdhama’ and also for `Veenapoovu’ and `Aparna.’ He has evolved his own style in playing veena espacially in ragalapa
