Declan Zapala - Songe Capricorne (Roland Dyens)

2016 has had an inevitable numbing effect on all of us where death and politics are concerned, but the passing of Roland Dyens in the midst of all this has really stuck with me. I learnt so much of his music as a student and inadvertently his unique technical approach and style of writing have both been deeply embedded into my fingers, and those of many other guitarists who play his music. He was a hero of mine and I still can’t quite believe he is gone but take some comfort knowing that his music lives on
