A museum comes to life in the depths of night. Rooms fill with shadows, demons and terrors from the pictures hanging on its walls. The atmosphere is tense.
Inspired by the famous Pinturas Negras of Spanish artist Francisco Goya (1746-1828), Patrick Bonté and Nicole Mossoux borrow from his alarming visions to create this powerful, award-winning, work for eleven dancers and their life-size puppet doubles. Ancient melodies and lost songs from Spain provide the haunting soundscape.
Based in Brussels, the Mossoux-Bonté company has been an important feature of the Mime Festival since first appearing at the ICA in 1992.
