Denis Schmitz plays “Glendalough“

EN „Glendalough“ is a valley in the Irish Wicklow Mountains, not far from Dublin. It is world renowned for an early Medieval monastic settlement which lies next to the two lakes, „Upper Lake“ and „Lower Lake“. As overcrowded by tourists it sometimes may seem, its eternal, almost mystical quietness really got a hold on me when I visited this place in 2017. In the main theme, I pay my respect to the wonderful and inspiring traditional music of Ireland by involving patterns that are drawn from a Fiddle, one of the typical instruments of the Irish Folk Music. It is a perfect contrast to the other, more quiet parts which mostly consist of triads. DE
