Thingyan 2016 - Burmese New Year Water Festival - Day 1 in Yangon, Myanmar

13 April 2016 - It’s the first day of Thingyan and a new friend and I head over to the city hall in Yangon, Myanmar and join the crowds. We didn’t know quite what to expect, but we were already soaking wet by the time we got the square! Then it was our turn to spray and hose down the people on the pickup trucks passing by! Tons of fun and it wasn’t even noon yet on the first of the festival’s 5 days!
