Woodartist Wednesdays - Trophy Blocks for a World Champion ⚪⚪⚪⚪⚪

During the past few years we’ve had a great honour to work with the most successful Finnish biathlete Kaisa Mäkäräinen ? A couple years ago we designed and manufactured a unique furniture set for Kaisa to her new house in Joensuu, Finland. The previous work included a showcase for the biathlon trophies, which was a topic we got to continue last spring. Kaisa finished her biathlon career in March 2020, and wanted to make a commemorating photoshoot with her prizes. She invited Woodartist’s co-founder Joona to take the photos, as he had taken several portraits of her in the past years. To pull the photoshoot off safely, the bright glass trophies required sturdy stands which would not topple over if nudged slightly. We also wanted the trophies to be a bit higher so that Kaisa could stand in the middle of them. We ended up making 10 blocks 60 - 120 cm tall - and approximately 30 - 70 kg each.
