Frosty Fat Fest. Jan 20-2024. West Bragg Creek, AB

This was the inaugural Frosty Fat Fest (FFF) fat bike race! This was also the first fat bike race that Team Old Goats and a Kidd!! have participated in and we showed up with 10 racers! We had tough conditions at West Bragg Creek (WBC). Following an extended cold spell with temperatures between -20c and -36c, that included a substantial snow fall 3 days before the event, the trail did not have an opportunity to consolidate and get a firm base packed down. This made for a loose trail that was difficult to ride on. The trail crew at WBC and the FFF organizers did everything they could to provide us with the best event possible and they came through on all of the things that were in their control! It was well organized, the volunteers were amazing and the energy was awesome! Kudos to XC Bragg Creek on this event! We will be back next year for sure!
