Oleg Kagan playing Schnittke’s Concerto no. 3 for Violin and Chamber Orchestra (1978), with an ensemble from the Bolshoi Orchestra under Alexander Lazarev, live in Moscow in 1989. Skip to 01:45 for the start. Schnittke dedicated this piece to Kagan who premiered it in 1979. At the end Alfred Schnittke came onstage several times (29:26). The concert was a celebration of his work, and it must have been quite an event as the stairs in the aisles were completely full and people were packed into the balconies.
