How To Use Obsidian: Sync for FREE Without The Cloud (And Encrypted Bonus!)

Back when I was falling in love with Obsidian the one thing I liked the most was also the biggest frustration: local files. Since the vault lives on my computer, how in the world do I make notes when I’m on my other computer? I need to synchronize them somehow. Google Drive? Obsidian Sync? What if you did neither, and used open source protocols available for free? (PS: I still think you should support the developers by buying the Catalyst level from their site. I have!)
