The song is led by a sinister synth arpeggio that snakes around the song, leaving delays of digital dust and reverb in its wake. The track ebbs, flows, and sometimes stretches like it’s pulling apart at its seams. It’s this sonic elongation where the track gets its title, “μMod.” The real μMod is a knob on the Eurorack module Mimephon which provides a modern take on sound copying, echo, and repeating devices, creating a unique delay effect that also takes on characteristics of vibratro, flanger, and chorus. This combination, when the timing is adjusted with this knob, creates this effect that sounds like light is being sucked into a black hole, where its particles bend into the singularity.
