Photogrammetry, stop ignoring it. an opinion piece for coffee time
while photogrammetry has picked up a lot in use, there are still common arguments against it:
1. The mesh density is too high
2. It’s not accurate enough
While that may be true for the game and VR/ realtime applications, the use of photogrammetry is often in another context, by VFX artists, or concept artists.
For that reason, it finds itself in film (check out Ian Hubert’s channel) or animations, or still concept renders.
