Chinese SHORAD: Fully Equipped Low Flying Killer System
During Zhuhai’s biggest air show and exhibition, the Type 625E was introduced. A cannon and surface-to-air missiles are used in the mobile short-range air defence system (SHORAD). Additionally, the Type 625E’s integrated radar is seen in a few exposition images.
Its main objectives would be taking down low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and—most importantly—drones.
Its design is quite straightforward, yet incredibly effective. A group of drones may be eliminated by the Type 625E in a single shot, according to the systems’ movies that were shown. The Type 625E is made in China by two state-owned enterprises, CSGC and Norinco. The anti-aircraft system has a very conventional design when used alone. We are dealing with a large vehicle with an 8x8 chassis that serves as the foundation for a launcher system for eight surface-to-air missiles and a six-barrel 25-millimeter Gatling gun, as you can see in the photographs.
