Stenbocksmarschen (ca 1700) - Fife & Drum, Hautbois

This is a fife and drum arrangement I made of the classic Swedish march “Stenbocksmarschen“ (“the Stenbock March“) or “Karl XII:s Fältmarsch“ (“Field March of Charles XII“), which was most likely composed by Olof Lindsten, a Swedish army oboist, in around 1700. The drums and the harmonization are made by me, and it also features oboes, a common military instrument at the time. The image depicts the Battle of Helsingborg in 1710, where the Swedish army under General Magnus Stenbock, after whom the march is named, beat a Danish invasion force under Jørgen Rantzau. The image is by an unkown German artist of the 18th century. This music will appear as soundtrack in the upcoming “Seven Years War“ mod for Rome Total War.
