This performance is from Dancestar USA in Miami 2004, it was the third annual World Electronic Music Awards in the USA, so we wanted something special to end the show. We knew Blueman Group had done some great music on their Album ’The Complex’ but when they played us their new single, a cover of Donna Summers ’I Feel Love’ with Annette Strean (Venus Hum) on vocals, we did everything we could to get make this performance, happen, it worked lol
Venus Hum opened for Blue Man Group on The Complex Rock Tour, and performed with them as well. The band was featured as “rock concert movement number sixty-three.“ “I Feel Love“ was released as a single in 2004. Venus Hum just just updated the song and added a lyric video to her website -
The 7th edition of The World Electronic Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas 2024 (Dates will be announced Shortly). A two-hour primetime TV show will be broadcast in 120 territories worldwide. The key award categories are Artist of The Year in Europe, Asia, North America, and World Artist of The Year. The live show will feature international superstars from cinema, TV, and social media, with the world’s biggest DJs and Artists collaborating and showcasing the best tracks of 2023 during the two-hour live show. The worldwide livestream will feature behind the scenes, red carpet, interviews, and post show reviews.
The first World Electronic Music Awards, then known as The Dancestar Awards were launched on a grand scale in the year 2000 at Alexander Palace, London with over 5,000 industry attendees and 21 TV Cameras capturing every angle. Certainly, nothing like it had been done before in the Electronic Music space.
The show continued to expand annually and in 2002, Dancestar was also launched in Miami during The Winter Music Conference, taking over six blocks of sand on Miami Beach. In all, six Dancestar shows were staged between 2000 and 2004 on both sides of the Atlantic with Dancestar USA 2004 credited as the most widely televised Electronic Music event in history, broadcast in over 50 countries to an estimated 600 million households.
The TV shows were hosted by superstar DJs and Hollywood Stars; Boy George, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Juliette Lewis, Tess Daly, Rosalyn Sanchez, and Carmen Electra.
