Giovanni, the older, is illitterate. He is sure that only culture can redeem oneself from misery. For this reason he has got an ambitious project: he wants his brother Pietro study and became an elementary school teacher. Giovanni wants his brother goes to school very strongly, even if it will cost a difficult and humble work. For Giovanni this cultural utopia slowly becames a sort of a magnificent obsession.
