Nationaltheater Mannheim presents Zemira e Azor by the Belgian-French composer André Grétry. In this opera which tell the story of Beauty and the Beast, our protagonist Zemira (Amelia Scicolone) finds a tender heart under a monstrous appearance. In this aria d’imitazione she compares her amorous journeys and the innocence of love with the graceful nightingale.
