Subscribe to our channel: School: Asayama Ichiden Ryū Hyōhō Event: Meiji Jingu Kobudo Demonstration 2019 Date: 03/11/2019 Venue: Meiji Jingu, Nishisando Shibachi Founder: Asayama Ichidensai Shigeaki Current representative: Seki Nobuhide (22th generation) -- PRESENTATION: ASAYAMA ICHIDEN RYŪ HYŌHŌ -- That school was founded by Asayama Ichidensai Shigeaki, who was apparently from Usui, in the ancient province of Jōshū (which corresponds roughly to nowadays’ Gunma Prefecture). In the middle of the feudal era and the Bakufu (Shogunate), the school thrived under the direction of Morito Sandayū Tomotsune. His adopted son, Morito Sankyū Gūta, counted up to 7000 disciples in the whole country at its maximum. Then there was a decline during the Meiji restoration, and the transmission was interrupted in many clans. However, the Keishi Ryū school, created for the Police Force during the Meiji Era actually used some of its sword and Iai techniques. What remained of it in the present age was transmitted within the Sakura Clan by Kobayashi Tojuro, pupil of Morito Sandayū Kinsei and 14th representative of the school.
