Native to most of South America, the Bronze Cory should be kept in large groups of its own kind and prefers aquariums with smooth sand substrates. It breeds readily: in most cases, a simple temperature drop is sufficient to induce spawning behaviors. Like other Corydoras, the Bronze Cory helps to keep the aquarium clean due to its constant digging and searching for food through the substrate, which resuspends detritus and debris to be removed by the filter!
