Okinawa Sanshin Music

I traveled with Ed Alvarez (the Director for Guam’s Decolonization Commission) and former Guam Senator Marilyn Manibusan for a 10 day research and solidarity trip to Okinawa. Our many hosts treated us to a party on our last day. Jun Sakima of the Sakima Art Museum was kind enough to play some sanshin music for us. Unfortunately I didn’t write down the names of the songs that he played for us. If you know the song, please leave the name in the comments!
