Easy 1940s Makeup: How to do a Joan Crawford Look

How to makeup like Joan Crawford, the old Hollywood American actress. Eyebrows, lipsticks, and face sculpturing. Makeup tutorial by Irina @retrofrog Foundation. Apply a thick mattifying foundation to the entire face using a sponge. Brows. Using a dark brown pencil create wide eyebrows (Joan signature) and use eyebrow mascara of the same shade, this will give the eyebrows a natural look. Eyes. Apply a gray-brown eyeshadow to the upper and lower eyelids in a thin layer using a fluffy brush. Use ivory color to lighten the inner corners of the eyes. Apply a black eyeliner along the upper eyelid line. Use a black long lasting pencil to fill in the areas between the lashes. Apply the same pencil to the lower eyelid with a thin line. Apply black mascara to the upper and lower lashes. Use false eyelashes. Sculpturing. Apply a light concealer to the central part of the face. Use loose powder to fix the concealer. Apply a creamy light brown contour stick to the cheekbones, sides of the forehead and nose and blend with a brush, this will make the face more sculptural. Blush. Apply a creamy red blush to your cheeks. Lips. Outline the contour of the lips with a red pencil, creating a rounded shape at the corners (another feature of Joan). Apply a warm shade of red lipstick on the lips.
