Coming from a long line of Mandinka musicians, Amadu Bandang Jobarteh is one of the Gambias most renowned kora players. In this records, his first solo album, Jali amadu shows off his distinctive Malian style of playing, presenting some of the oldest and most prestigious items in his repertoire. This record was recorded as part of an Oriental and African music project at the University of Cambridge and was released by EAVADISC (UK) in 1978.
