Charles Ferlus: Nocturne “Fleur de genets“,

This piece was published in 1869 and was composed by Ferlus (1829-1892), a french composer. We don’t have much information about his life. This is a charming nocturne with some nice ideas, I especially like the harmonic modulations in the somewhat dramatic middle section. The note repetition section really shows the weakness of vst plugins, because a lot of resonances are going on in a real piano which no vst can capture in that level of detail. (it’s the same sample over and over again, it gives ugly resonances that are unrealistic). It’s something Alkan could have written too. (I am thinking of that passage in the concerto di camera a minor slow movement...) Also there were some errors in the score some of which I figured out, but some are still left in my playing, sorry! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - A method to find scores: - My donation link to keep the channel growing: Thanks for listening :-)
