USS Iwo Jima Takes On Relief Operations In Haiti

161013-N-RL456-001 CARRIBBEAN SEA (Oct. 13, 2016) U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Assault Craft Unit 2 conduct well deck operations between the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) and the amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 17). Mesa Verde was relieved by Iwo Jima as the lead Navy support ship for humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
