He studied with Natalia Ivanova-Kramskaya in Moscow, Prof. Albert Aigner in Lübeck, Prof. Andreas von Wangenheim in Karlsruhe and finished his education with Oscar Ghiglia in Basel with a concert diploma. The latter two teachers have influenced his style the most. In 2005, Pavel won the 1st prize at the prestigious “concorso internationale di interpretatione“ in Gargnano. Moreover, he participated in the world premieres and first recordings of many contemporary composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Klaus Ager, Boris Yoffe, Vadim Werbitzky.
