Wooden Bygones (1964)

Oxhey, Middlesex. We see part of a collection of wooden bygones at the home of Edward and Eva Pinto. Starts with a sign ’Respectable Woman Wants Washing’ shots of women turning handles on a roller press in a wash house and a woman putting a sock on a stocking airer and hanging it up. Shots of schoolgirls looking at the bygones and playing with old puppets. A boy plays with a wooden engine. We see a Chamber horse designed to exercise the legs, a man sits on it and bounces up and down on the seat full of springs. Another man brings a long stick which opens out into a Georgian library ladder.
