3D printing with a 3D printed filament that can be blended like ink
Seoul National University researchers have developed a new technology that enables 3D printing of material gradient designs, using only a basic desktop FDM 3D printer and low-cost materials.
A 3D printed filament is digitally designed to facilitate mixing of multiple base materials with prescribed material composition and distribution, which leads to the desired functional gradients across various property domains, such as mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and color.
