Pilots POV | Boeing 737 landing in Funchal Madeira Airport LPMA

In this video you get to join me in the cockpit of the Boeing 737 and see what it’s like to land in Madeira from the Pilots point of view (POV). Landing in Funchal Madeira (LPMA / FNC) is no small task. It is probably one of the most difficult airports to land at with an airliner. This landing was my first time experiencing the approach from the first officer seat. Approach and landing in Funchal has to be done by the captain since there is special training required to be allowed to land at Madeira Airport. The visual approach is flown manually and is quite demanding since you encounter strong winds coming over the island.
