Devoted to the furtherance of new music, and also more widely Polish music, the ensemble performs three works: the partly aleatoric single string quartet by Witold Lutosławski (1964), the seventh work in the medium by Mieczysław Weinberg, born in Poland but resident in Moscow at the time he wrote it (1957); and a 1902 work by Witold Maliszewski (1873-1939), Lutosławski’s teacher and the founder of the Odessa Conservatoire.
