Leaf-Footed Bugs have a “beak“ called a proboscis, or rostrum. They use their proboscis to pierce plant parts - leaves, fruit, stems, seeds - and suck out the nutrients. For this reason, they can be considered pests if they’re causing damage to crops. Generally they don’t cause problems for homeowners, and they are not harmful to people.
