Syria: Catholic cathedral reconsecrated in Aleppo after restoration

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Aleppo was reconsecrated on Tuesday after it had been damaged during the Syrian war. His Beatitude, patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Youssef Absi held a service attended by dozens in which he declared the site sacred once again. “This was the first cathedral we built during the Ottoman period, this is why it is a heritage that revives our love to the homeland,“ said archbishop Yohanna Janbert.
