X-P3 Transwing® aircraft with 15 lb/6.8 kg payload on board

This video is from our flight tests on 26 Sept 2020 of PteroDynamics’ all-electric Transwing® long-range vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft model X-P3 carrying a payload of 15 lb / 6.8 kg. This aircraft is 6 ft / 1.8 m long and has a 12.3 ft / 3.8 m wingspan in cruise configuration yet is just 5 ft / 1.5 m wide in its takeoff/landing/hover configuration. The aggressive/rapid arrest of cruise flight just prior to landing is a strategy to conserve energy since the aircraft consumes much less energy in cruise flight in its fixed-wing configuration as compared to in its rotorcraft configuration.
