Titta Ruffo - Il balen - Il Trovatore - Rigoletto

This is a rare recording of Titta Ruffo (June 9, 1877 - July 5, 1953) singing Conte di Luna’s aria from Il Trovatore by Verdi. He was only 29 years old in this recording. His voice was darker than most basses, but with that ringing dramatic tenor top. That is what a true Verdi baritone voice should sound like.
