middle of the 17th century, an old Pomor village, winter time. Women in the chamber are weaving sashes and singing. There is a weaver loom in the corner, outside blizzard is howling, snow is crunching, as men return after ice fishing, women are carrying buckets, children are playing and cheering. The sounds of the street entwine with the singing and melodiously play into the patterns of doormats, sashes - resembling peculiar sound records. The door creaks, firewood hits the floor near the stove
