Amtrak with New ACS-64 Stops Beside BNSF Coal Train

An eastbound BNSF coal train sits on the west side of Ottumwa, Iowa waiting for Amtrak train #6 to pass it on the other track. When the left track-running “California Zephyr“ appears, it comes to a stop right next to the coal train and calls the dispatcher. With only one person in #6’s cab, the engineer, the train must be stopped for the crew of the “Zephyr“ to copy a warrant to continue. After the dispatcher finishes giving Amtrak a warrant, the passenger train gets moving again and the dispatcher start
