Full titles read: “HMS ILLUSTRIOUS“ L/S’s of Lady Henderson (wife of late controller of the Vickers Armstrong Yard) throwing champagne bottles onto the bow of the enormous new warship. Very good L/S’s and M/S’s of the new aircraft carrier sliding down the ramp. The commentator says that it is the largest ship ever to have been built at the Barrow yard in Cumbria.
