Slovenian artist T. has released the first EP from a new project of celestial atmospheric black metal, to go alongside Ueldes (aka Veldes), and Mossgiver under his Sij MusicArt banner. With these projects, T. has been responsible for some of my personal favourite post-black albums, so it’s a real honour to feature Votum Silentii on the channel.
The three tracks on this Aeonist debut open with sharply warming church organ, illustrated in the smouldering light of the cover art, before erupting into the soaring epic sound familiar to those who are already following his work – an elemental force of naturalistic post-black metal, and the feeling of being on a perpetual precipice of enormity, surrounded by the energies of the natural world.
Some cool vocals enhance the grand instrumentation, all of which is given a mix and master by Nekkomix, aka M. of Skyforest / Abstract Void / A Light in the Dark and other projects (plus he mixed the Bloodbark ep, which I’ll mention as mandatory listening for anyone into post-black metal that hasn’t heard it).
No physical editions are planned as yet (though surely someone will step up to put this out), but digital copies are available from the Sij MusicArt bandcamp now:
