Yannis Ritsos’ “Last 100 Years Before Man“

One of Greece’s greatest poets, Ritsos wrote this in late 1942, during the Nazi occupation of Greece. It is a moving and compelling description of the tragic affairs of Greece, and yet is rich with deep imagery of the resilience of Greek people during this resistance.
