Silk Scarves-Dyeing with Sharpie Markers at Art and Soul ~ Suzanne McNeill
Join Suzanne McNeill at Art and Soul this October 2012 in Portland OR.
e inspired! The whole process of dyeing silk with Sharpie markers is exciting. When the magic ingredient is added, it is exciting to watch the colorful inks run, blend and bleed... creating unexpected and beautiful explosions of color. Instead of standing at a table with dye colors in messy pots, you can relax. Use Sharpie markers to draw directly on the silk. Enjoy experimenting with techniques - shibori, tie-dye, rubber bands, baking powder, salt, stamps and tetures. Every technique and project is unique and exciting.
You’ll leave the class with 3 finished scarves. Finished silk pieces make fabulous wearable scarves. The silk can also be embellished with beads, stitched into collages, quilts, and postcards. You’ll love this fascinating method of dyeing and creative fun.
